Audience Feedback

When we pitched our ideas to the rest of our media class we received mainly good feedback from all. People thought our idea was good and thought once finished would be enjoyable to watch. The song itself was also noted as being a good selection as most of the other students enjoyed listening to it. The only constructive criticism we received was that it would be quite hard to film certain parts we wanted to. When we get into the planning stage of our video's and we start to do mood boards we will decide if some of our plans are do-able or not, if anything isn't we will have to brainstorm some more ideas to fill in gaps.

Because we thought the idea of our music video was similar to Rihannas - We Found Love video we have decided to evaluate her music video using Andrew Godwins 6 features of a music video.

1. Music video demonstrates genre characteristics

Common charactoristics of a R&B popstar (Rihanna) are partying, love stories, drinking and having fun. This is shown in this video.

2. There is a relationship between lyrics and visuals

"As his shaddow crosses mine". This line is played as Rihanna crosses her arms over her body, although hugging herself, which is what the lyrics suggest a boy is doing to her.

The couple here are getting close with each other in a fish and chip shop in Northern Ireland as the lyrics say "we found love in a hopeless place''

3. There is a relationship between music and the visuals

In this part of the song Rihanna and her friends are partying in a field and jumping and dancing in time with the beat of the music. This shows that the visuals in time with the music.

4. The demands of the record label will include the need for lots of close ups on the music artist and the arrtist may develop motifs which will recur across their work

Frequent close-ups on Rihanna having fun will make the audience more happy to view the video

This shot of Rihanna is shown quite a lot throughout the video, which is the motif.

5. There are frequent motions of looking

Song choice

This is our song choice, we chose this because we both like this song and the lyircs are really good to listen to and we think the lyrics will suit our style of video we want to do

Target Audience

Our target audience would be more of the younger generation, rather than adults. Teenagers would prefer to listen to this kind of music and appriciate the video more than adults. Seveys on facebook and twitter show that teenagers between the age of 15 and 19 would prefer to listen to this genre of music and have a fun upbeat video to watch, rather than a slow tempo song. Also, the video will include teenagers and nights out, they would be doing things that adults dont do on a night out.
